The Massage Therapist degree training program is designed to provide the educational knowledge and skills to become an entry-level Professional Massage Therapist. BTI Massage Therapist students are educated in the scientific studies of Anatomy and Physiology with hands-on practice in Therapeutic Massage. Students learn a variety of skills, hands-on classes, and intensive courses in an applied clinical setting. Also covered in this degree program are business principles, client/practitioner relationship, and infection control. Students also receive course training in CPR and First Aid.

Course Training Objectives:

Graduates of the Massage Therapist degree program are trained for a career as a Massage Therapist and work in health spas, fitness centers, resorts, cruise ships, private practice, and physician's offices. They also work closely with chiropractors and physical therapists.

Trained Massage Therapy students learn a variety of massage techniques including: Swedish massage, sports massage, myofascial release, reflexology, prenatal and infant massage, stone therapy, aroma therapy, salt and sugar scrub, and Chinese medicine.

Each instructor brings their expertise in various modalities to share with our students. Our certified instructors tutor students in all of their courses, as necessary. Massage Therapist students participate in community health fairs and provide demonstration massages. Some of the course work includes:

  • Allied Modalities
  • Pathology
  • Business Principles
  • Therapeutic Massage
  • Human Anatomy & Physiology
  • CPR

In addition to course work and hands-on training, students will have an externship rotation in settings such as chiropractors' offices and spas, to complete their education and prepare them for a career as a Professional Massage Therapist.
