Types of Jobs in Graphic Design

Getting your Associate in Specialized Technology Degree in Graphic Design enables you to explore a range of career opportunities. Potential careers in Graphic Design include:

  • Illustrator - Illustrators showcase both their analytical left-brain and artistic right-brain in their work. Illustrators can work in electronic media where visual effects and animations come to life in movies and video games. Or they might draw, paint and illustrate storyboards by hand.
  • Production Artist - Production Artists turn creative visions into reality. They work closely with Art Directors as they put the finishing touches on ads, brochures, web banners and more. From there, Production Artists create the electronic files for the printer or programmer.
  • Graphic Designer - The look of a product from logo to packaging and even the store display helps determine how consumers connect with it. Graphic Designers' vision plays an integral part in a product's success as they select the colors, fonts and images to represent products and inform consumers.
