What to Expect at BTI

As you begin the enrollment process, it's important to have all relevant admissions information to make the process go smoothly. We understand that students learn differently, so we have two entrance exams to measure your ability to perform basic skills and learn new material. Depending on your test scores, you may qualify for our Foundations Courses or Six Weeks to Success Program. Read on to learn more about these programs and how they can prepare you for your career training.

Based on your program selection, BTI may require you to complete two entrance examinations:

  • The Wonderlic Scholastic Level Examination (SLE)
  • The Wonderlic Basic Skills Test (WBST)

The school uses these tests to determine if students meet the qualifications needed to do well in the students chosen program. These tests may be waived for students already holding an Associate in Specialized Business/Technology Degree or Higher.

Foundations Courses

After taking the assessments, some students may qualify to take the Foundations Courses offered at BTI. We understand that each student had a different experience in high school, but all deserve opportunities to succeed.

These courses are designed to help students succeed in their program and ultimately become successful in their new careers. The Foundation Courses focus on necessary math and English skills and are required for all Associate in Specialized Business/Technology Degree programs.

Financial Aid Process

More than 75% of our students received some form of Federal financial assistance that helped them pay their tuition costs. As a student at BTI, you may qualify for a Federal Pell Grant, scholarship or a student loan to help you pay for your tuition. Financial Aid is available to those who qualify.

The first step in determining if you can receive financial aid is to meet with one of our qualified Financial Services Representatives who will explain your financial aid options. They will also help you fill out your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form can be completed in as little as 15 minutes.
