Students and graduates from BTI have access to many different resources dedicated to helping them find the right job. As you complete your Certificate, Diploma or ASB/AST Degree, you will be establishing your own professional identity to showcase to potential employers when you graduate.
When we say Career Assistance, we mean it. Even after you graduate, you can come back to BTI for help with your résumé, interviews and course refreshers. We understand that you may change companies throughout your career, and we will be there for you whether you’re off to a different job or you’re interviewing for a promotion.
As part of many of our program, students are required to complete an externship, which is designed to give you career experience in the workplace. You will work with your Program Director and an Externship Coordinator to determine the best fit for you.
As you continue in your career, you will be able to constantly draw on the things you learn from your externship. Not only will you draw on the knowledge you gain but also the relationships you develop during the externship as well. Learn more about our Externship program here.
At BTI, we encourage our students to come back for course refreshers. Attending these classes can help you brush up on information and techniques you might not use in the workplace on a regular basis. This also allows you to stay current in your field and learn about important updates.
Whether you are a current student or a graduate from BTI, we will help you build your Career Portfolio. Employers seek individuals with strong Career Portfolios because they show two very important things about a person:
Your Career Portfolio will contain some of the following items:
Even after you graduate, you can meet with a member of our Career Services team to put together your Career Portfolio with all of the achievements you’ve been able to accumulate during and since your time with BTI.
Part of getting into the job market isn’t just knowing how to apply your knowledge in the workplace. You also need to know how to get the job. With our Career Management Workshops, you will be able to build a strong résumé and practice your interviewing skills.
Whether it’s your first interview after you graduate or it’s your first interview after 10 years being in the workplace, you can come join one of our Career Management Workshops and learn how to present yourself in person and on paper.
At Berks Technical Institute, we hold regular Career Management Workshops that all of our students and alumni can use to better their careers. For information on the next round of Career Management Workshops, please call 888.881.5954 or contact your Career Services team member.
